At Presynct, we are lucky to work with so many incredible women and advocates for a future where we embrace equity. But further to this we have the privilege to innovate and create meaningful change through our workplace offerings. We asked our Director Lisa Copland and Senior Workplace Consultant Maria Penny to provide their perspective on this year’s Internation Women's Day theme 'Cracking The Code – Innovation for a gender equal future'.

How does Presynct innovate?
Presynct innovates by viewing the world of workplace from different perspectives to see gaps and creating tools and solutions to fill these gaps based on our broad experience both in and outside of workplace.
How do innovations and new ideas in workplace help to create a future where we embrace equity?
Traditional workplace models typically require employees to work solely from the physical office (in most cases at an assigned workstation) and people are evaluated on output rather than outcomes. These models can drive inequity where pay, superannuation contributions and career advancement are concerned. By challenging existing ways of working and encouraging organisations to explore new ideas and technologies to empower their people to work flexibly and in line with their personal situation, we can create more equitable access to opportunities.
How do we use technology to innovate and drive change in the workplace?
We are able to demonstrate through data that people can work remotely and flexibly while still producing high quality outcomes for their organisations. We are able to show that productivity doesn’t mean being in the office 100% of the time. There is a way for everyone who wants to work to be able to do this in a way that aligns with their personal needs.
How did you get your start in an industry where innovation, technology and change are at the forefront?
By taking a risk, believing in myself, by having a great female mentor and working hard!
MARIA
How does Presynct innovate?
By really understanding the success of a project, what works, what doesn’t and having the ability to create new solutions and processes to address those areas. We find new ways to meet the needs of the market always from a client’s perspective.
How do innovations and new ideas in workplace help to create a future where we embrace equity?
New ideas and innovations in the workplace currently focus on creating better connection to an organisation, each other, and our teams. This helps embrace and create equity in the workspace itself and between people and teams. By placing emphasis on human connection and interaction, we create an environment and culture where we encourage open sharing of ideas and knowledge, better opportunity for fostering relationships, and a clear way to break down silos and barriers.
How do we use technology to innovate and drive change in the workplace?
We use technology to connect people to their work and each other faster and by driving simplistic efficient solutions that are easy for all to use and enable mobility in the workplace for ease of sharing space.
How did you get your start in an industry where innovation, technology and change are at the forefront?
I came from a core RE background of over 20+ years and started focussing on workplace around a decade ago. Initially in the people and change space transitioning people from a fixed to flexible working model and then into transforming space and technology to better accommodate sharing models. From there I was able to develop a deep understanding of business requirements and strategic objectives, modelling space requirements and changes and aligning design and technology solutions to help deliver on business and employee experience.
We are passionate about what we do and appreciate the impact we are able to have opening the door to workplace brilliance. How is your team Cracking The Code?
